Time Management in a Nutshell

Rules of Time Management from all the books – to save time in reading them:
  1. Don’t rush
  2. If in doubt – ask
  3. Write it down
  4. Organize your work area
  5. Plan your day – the day before
  6. Schedule tasks in a planner
  7. Keep files trim – cull them
  8. Give specific deadlines
  9. Don’t be a perfectionist
  10. Have a daily focus period
  11. Respect other’s time
  12. Handle paper once
  13. Use a follow up file
  14. Don’t procrastinate
  15. Scrap magazines (tear out useful bits)
  16. Schedule personal and family time
  17. Say no more often
  18. Record your telephone calls (Log)
  19. Delegate more
  20. Subscribe to condensed information
  21. Have one planner only
  22. Avoid stress
  23. Practice Pareto’s Principle (80% of results are achieved by 20% of what you do)
  24. Prioritize
  25. Put goals in writing
  26. Attend fewer meetings
  27. Don’t take the monkey
  28. There are 1,440 minutes in a day – use them wisely!
